Vol. I: The Boise Massacre on the Oregon Trail: Attack on the Ward Party in 1854 and Massacres of 1859....... 300 pp, photographs, maps, figures, appendices, notes, bibliography, index. Softcover Description: Recounts the 1854 attack on the Ward Train on the Boise River and massacre of the captives by the Shoshoni; the1859 attacks on the Shepherd Train and the Miltimore Family, both participated in by "White Indians;" the Army expeditions attempting to chastise the perpetrators of the massacres; and includes the background of the Shoshoni Indians. The Ward Party was from Lexington, MO, the Shepherd Train was from Missouri, and the Miltimore family was from Iowa.

Vol. II: The Utter Disaster on the Oregon Trail: The Utter and Van Ornum Massacres of 1860....... 236 pp, photographs, maps, figures, appendices, notes, bibliography, index. Softcover Description: Recounts the two-day attack on the Utter Wagon Train along the Snake River, the flight of the survivors to the Owyhee River, their discovery by the Shoshoni who forcibly took the survivors firearms, the flight of the Van Ornum family and their massacre near Farewell Bend, and the attempts of Zachias Van Ornum to rescue his captive nephew and nieces. Three of the families were from Lake Geneva area of Wisconsin, the Chase family was from Geneva, Illinois, five soldiers whose enlistments were up joined the train at Fort Hall, one army deserter joined the train at the Rock Creek crossing (Twin Falls, ID).

Vol. III: Massacre Rocks and City of Rocks: 1862 Attacks on Emigrant Trains.......... This book details attacks that took place in 1862 at Massacre Rocks, at City of Rocks, at Rock Creek, and the Lander Road in what is now Idaho as emigrant miners tried to reach the Salmon River mines of the unfolding Idaho Gold Rush. The land of the Shoshone was forever changed as permanent settlements were established. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
